Ealing Southall Labour Party

Sharma hosts fundraising dinner

Virendra Sharma MP hosted a successful Ealing Southall Labour Party fundraising dinner at Days Hotel Banqueting Suite, South Ruislip on Friday 10th July. Over 600 guests enjoyed a three course meal and listened to guest speakers including the Secretary of State for the Home Department, Alan Johnson MP, Claude Moraes MEP and London Labour Party Director, Ken Clark. Among the guests attending were key leaders from all sections of Ealing Southall's diverse community.

The fundraiser was a sell out and raised significant amounts of funds to pay for the local Ealing Southall Labour Party campaign to get Virendra Sharma re-elected as the Member of Parliament for Ealing Southall at the next general election. The success of the dinner reflected the local community's support for the Labour Party's values and Virendra Sharma's hard work on their behalf.

Speaking after the dinner Virendra Sharma said, 'I was humbled and honoured by the level of support  shown to me and the local Labour Party at this very successful and enjoyable fundraising dinner. The Home Secretary Alan Johnson MP gave an excellent speech contrasting the state of the country when the Tories were last in power with the progress made under Labour. The local Labour Party and community were inspired by the Home Secretary's call to go out and campaign for a Labour victory at the next election.'
