May 10, London: Punjab National Bank (International) Limited, celebrated its tenth anniversary of incorporation and ninth anniversary of operations in the UK at the iconic Chelsea Old Town Hall, Central London. The bank began operating on May 10 2007 and is currently serving over 65000 customers across seven branches in Britain.
A key part of the celebration was a mesmerising musical performance by two Indian classical maestros: Pt. Partho Sarothy on the sarod, accompanied by Pt. Rajkumar Misra on the tabla.
The event was graced by esteemed customers of the bank, members of the Association of Indian Banks in the UK, staff members and their families.
Via a video message, Ms Usha Ananthasubramanian, Managing Director & CEO of the parent bank in India and Chairperson of PNBIL, extended her heartiest congratulations to all for being a part of the PNBIL Group and for their unwavering contributions to its growth. She further thanked the London team for shaping their organisation into an embodiment of good service, proficiency and heritage which the bank will continue to carry forward, partnering in the growth of the country.
Managing Director & CEO Mr Antanu Das thanked the esteemed guests for joining the Foundation Day celebration of PNBIL. He expressed his excitement at taking charge of PNBIL in London, the financial hub of the world in a period of considerable challenge for all banks. Speaking about the great opportunities and challenges, Mr Das commented, ‘The banks have been instrumental in contributing towards economic development and service to society and the expectations from the banks post-financial crisis make the role of all those involved in the banking sector ever more important. He also highlighted that Punjab National Bank International Limited has a family-like environment for its staff members, who get ample opportunities to enhance their banking knowledge and skills. He thanked all the staff present for their hard work and good performance.
Finally commenting upon the support the bank has received from its customers during its ten years of growth, Mr Das said, ‘We are thankful to all our service users and customers for their continued support and patronage.
