Ealing/Southall MP Virendra Sharma hosted a dinner in tribute to his supporters and Labour Party colleagues who helped him sweep to victory in the June general election. The event took place at the Riverside Banquetting Centre near London’s Heathrow Airport on Friday 15 September.
A gathering of some 600 people enjoyed a three-course meal with musical accompaniment. Local MPs including Barry Gardiner, Seema Malhotra, Stephen Pound, Rupa Haq and Ruth Cadbury, along with several Ealing councillors, were guests of honour, each delivering a mix of light-hearted and serious political addresses. Tributes were also paid to Sharma’s wife Nirmala.
Virendra Sharma has held his seat in the House of Commons for more than ten years and was returned with an even greater majority last June
