Palestinian Territories, Israel: Protests Erupt At Gaza Border

Thousands of Palestinians relaunched protests along the Gaza-Israel border on April 6 and demonstrations turned violent after Israeli forces killed one Palestinian protester and shot and wounded at least 40 others, bringing the death toll to 21 over the past week, Reuters reported. Violent clashes broke out March 30 when thousands of Palestinian protesters called for the right to return to their ancestral homes in Israel that were lost in Arab-Israeli wars. The decades long Israeli-Palestinian conflict has no end in sight and protests will likely increase with the upcoming anniversary of the “the Nakba,” or catastrophe, on May 15.
